Director of Development

First Coast Opera, Northeast Florida's professional opera company, invites applications for a part-time Development Director to begin as soon as possible after January 1, 2026.

This is a part-time contract position for a Development Director for a non-profit performing arts organization. The company does not maintain a business office, so the Development Director must provide his/her own work location and office equipment. The successful candidate should reside in Northeast Florida and have the ability to attend meetings, events, and performances in Saint Augustine. Reporting to the General & Artistic Director, the Development Director will plan, oversee, and execute an annual Development Plan to support company contributed income goals, including individual giving, corporate sponsorship and support, planned giving, and providing grant assistance.

Cultivating donor relationships and direct solicitation is expected. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with other staff, Board, volunteers, and outside vendors.

• Experience in non-profit fundraising, including donor solicitation
• Experience with/Interest in the performing arts, specifically opera
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to execute projects and tasks from idea to completion
