Nurse Manager | Cardiovascular Services | Full Time Overview

The Registered Nurse Manager is responsible for the provision of patient care for their respective departments and units. The Manager coordinates care with providers using evidence-based practice to ensure positive patient outcomes. The Manager oversees departmental staffing and budgeting while adhering to safety and quality initiatives set forth by hospital administration. The Manager works with administration to support future growth of the department.

Responsibilities
  • Provides overall direction and leadership for the provision of safe, effective and cost efficient patient care within the service area.
  • Establishes the service line vision and goals in collaboration with Administration, Medical Staff and the multidisciplinary clinical care team.
  • Monitors safety of care including the administration prescribed medication and clinical documentation in the medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensures adequate staffing for patient needs on a daily basis and schedules staff based on patient acuity.
  • Manages the selection and employment of staff for the area supervised and promotes professional development of staff.
  • Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff, ensuring ethical practice and implementation of safety and risk management standards.
  • Develops departmental staffing, revenue and expense budgets and monitors labor and non-labor resources to achieve budget goals.
  • Monitors patient and family satisfaction for quality of services rendered and resolves complaints through multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Monitors supplies, ordering and repairs as required to maintain operational standards and cost effectiveness.
  • All other duties assigned by the department.
Qualifications

Education required:

  • Associates in Nursing
  • BSN required or active enrollment in an accredited BSN program
  • MSN or Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration (Preferred)
Experience
  • 2 years of Nursing Management or ANM experience
  • 3 years of Cardiovascular experience
  • CVICU experience (Preferred)
