OPS RN Weekend Warrior Program available at the rate of $34.67/hour. The eligible shifts Monday to Friday, after 3PM and all shifts on Saturday and Sunday. You must work at least one shift a pay period. Does not have benefits.

The FDVA Nursing State Veterans’ Nursing Homes are designated employment sites for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program.

  • From funds available, the program may make nursing education loan repayments of up to $4,000 per year, per nurse enrolled in the program, for a maximum of four years.
  • Payment is made at the end of each 12‑month enrollment period and made directly to the participant’s lender.
  • Enrollment and payment of awards is based on available funds.

This is a continuous advertisement for a Registered Nurse. Multiple positions, varied shifts, and OPS (Temporary) candidates may be selected from advertisement within six (6) months of the closing date.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.
  • Must possess a current AHA BLS CPR certification.
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Records.
  • Experience working with Matrix Care.
  • Experience in a long‑term care facility (nursing home; skilled nursing; or assisted living facility).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with medication administration.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
  • The incumbent is responsible for providing quality professional care to the veteran residents to ensure their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act. Provide initial and ongoing assessment of the resident population. Perform assigned duties to include but not limited to administration of medications and treatments per MD order, monitoring and providing interventions to meet the needs of the resident, completing accurate clinical documentation reflective of resident’s current status and providing supervision and guidance to the Senior Licensed Practical Nurse (SLPN), Senior Certified Nursing Assistant (SCNA) and other Allied Health Care Professionals.

    Works under the direct supervision of the Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor.
  • Administer medications and perform treatments to assigned patients. Complete documentation of needs and treatment as required by local, state, and federal requirements.
