This position is for our Durbin Park Hospital. Interviews will be conducted at UF Flagler Hospital, 400 Health Park Blvd, St. Augustine, Florida 32086. The role involves PRN (as needed) varied shifts and requires full engagement to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors to UF Health.

• Maintains required certifications, licensing, weapons qualifications, and training to maintain professional competency (15%).
• Responds to all emergencies and disasters which may require the officer to remain on the property until the emergency or disaster is terminated (15%).
• Makes rounds on campus as directed and coordinates with law enforcement, fire department, or medical staff for assistance (10%).
• Responds to active threats involving dangerous weapons that threaten the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors (20%).
• Monitors entrances and exits to ensure authorized persons are allowed entry into the facility (5%).
• Conducts escorts of patients, staff, and visitors (5%).
• Conducts escorts of disruptive individuals in the emergency department off the premises (5%).
• Warns violators of policies for loitering, smoking, and carrying prohibited items (5%).
• Investigates and prepares security incident reports on incidents and suspicious activities (5%).
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor within job scope.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Over five (5) years of Law Enforcement, Military Police, or Military Combat Unit experience.

• Valid Florida or Georgia Driver License with a clean record.
• State of Florida Class D Security Officer License (maintain current status).
• State of Florida Class G Security Officer License (maintain current status).
• International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) Basic Level Certification (must be completed within 90 days of employment).

• ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP).
