Service Technician II - Crane at Ring Power Cat

Overview

Maintains a minimum set of tools required for job performance. Works in a neat, orderly, and safe manner while caring for and maintaining company machines/equipment. Demonstrates utilization of dealer computer systems for work orders and other documentation. Repairs or replaces defective parts on machinery/equipment, disassembles components and properly cleans parts, inspects components to maximize reuse and control repair costs, tests, diagnoses and adjusts failures of equipment.

Creates repair estimates and submits information to substantiate quotes and estimates. Prepares all parts requisitions, time cards, or service reports with sufficient detail for service accounting needs. Works under the guidance of a qualified shop or field service technician in the disassembly, repair, re-assembly and test of components. Monitors job expenses versus repair estimates and communicates any cost overruns to the lead person.

Assumes the lead person position temporarily as necessary. Maintains personal company service literature and stays aware of technical changes in the industry. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Formal

Education:

High School diploma or GED.

Experience:

3-4 years.

Required / Credentials
  • Able to comprehend written material and communicate effectively with employees and customers.
  • Must have completed standards outlined in the personnel achievement guideline or be deemed to meet them by the lead person based on division location.
  • Must possess a valid Class E Driver’s License.
Not Required But Highly Desired Criteria
  • High School education including a specialized technical course or equivalent years of experience as a Technician is preferred.
Updating of Knowledge

Job requirements change requiring re-training to stay current every 1-2 years.

    Typically after regular business hours with occasional requirements to work days, holidays and weekends.
