Reeves Construction Company is looking for Hillman based out of the St. Augustine, Florida location. This position is responsible for providing support and assistance to the Pipe Layer.
Main Responsibilities- Safely rig pipe and structures for lifting and placement in the pipe trench
- Measure and mark pipe for cutting
- Must be able to mix and do concrete work
- Communicate effectively with pipe layer and tail man in the pipe trench
- Work with the loader operator on the hill
- Operate pipe saw for cutting concrete, PVC, and/or HDPE pipes
- Operate plate tamp and/or jumping jack for pipe backfill compaction
- Inspect pipe prior to being placed in pipe trench
- Hand digging to verify existing utility lines
- Handling and moving misc. materials
- Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
- Six months to one year experience.
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures.
- Able to work independently or as an active member of a team.
- Have transportation to work daily.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employee must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
