Controller (CPA) — Mid‑market (hundreds of millions in revenue) Manufacturer — Onsite — Western Suburbs of Chicago

We’re a mid‑market, profitable advanced manufacturer with a modern, newly built headquarters in the western suburbs of Chicago. This organization is profitable, well‑capitalized, and expanding the Accounting team. It's an excellent time to position yourself as their hands‑on Controller to own core accounting operations, drive ERP improvements, and build cost performance discipline across a growing business. This is a high‑impact role with visibility to senior leadership and immediate team management (2–3 direct reports to start).

• Establish and lead month‑end processes, account reconciliations, consolidations, and GAAP‑compliant reporting.
• Design, implement, and monitor internal controls that protect assets and ensure accuracy at scale.
• Optimize ERP data integrity and workflows; partner cross‑functionally to streamline reporting and analytics.
• Implement cost accounting processes to ensure accurate cost and actionable variance analysis.
• Manage local/state/federal reporting requirements and coordinate with external auditors for financial statements and tax support.
• Coach and elevate a team of 2–3 (with plans to add headcount), setting standards and establishing SOPs for repeatable excellence.

• CPA (required).
• Experience in mid‑market environments—companies roughly $50 M–$400 M in revenue, including startups or growth‑stage settings.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing background required.
• Track record in ERP environments (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) and leading system implementations or enhancements.
• Clear, concise communication and A‑level presentations to senior leadership.
• Audit leadership / public accounting background a plus.
• Proven command of US GAAP, consolidations, and audit readiness; familiarity with ASC 606 and ASC 842 transitions is beneficial.

Onsite at our remodeled, state‑of‑the‑art facility.

$150,000–$165,000 base plus at least 15% annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance; up to $180,000 considered for exceptional profiles.
