Surgical Tech, Medical Assistant
Location: St. Charles
Title: Certified Scrub Tech (PRN)
Salary Range: $24.00 – $35.00 per hour, based on skill and experience level.
ResponsibilitiesA Certified Scrub Technician performs technical responsibilities related to assisting physicians with surgical instrumentation. Duties include monitoring PAR levels of all surgical instruments and supplies, cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments, and participating in staff meetings and performance improvement activities. The role works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; additional languages preferred.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in the Center.
• Knowledge of the principles of growth and development across the lifespan and ability to assess data reflecting patient requirements related to age‑specific needs.
• Knowledge of instruments and surgical techniques, instrument and needle counts, isolation techniques and terminal cleaning of surgical instruments and rooms.
• Demonstrates specific technical surgical skills and ability to perform within the scope of employee/patient relationship.
• Participates in opportunities for continuing education and utilizes recognized communication channels.
• Maintains good interpersonal relationships with patients, co‑workers, and other health team members.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of an approved Certified Scrub School with certification preferred, or one (1) year of on‑the‑job experience.
