GENERAL POSITION

DESCRIPTION:

This person will work on large machines and custom products to meet customer requirements. Assemble, test, and troubleshoot, products to meet the customer schedule. Will support the Corporate Quality policy and using TQM concepts, principles, and tools, to make continuous improvements in work processes.

POSITION FUNCTIONS: Listed below is typical functions performed in this position. This description should not be construed to contain every function/responsibility that may be required to be performed by the individual in this position as he or she is required to perform other related functions as assigned.

Assemble mechanical machinery to meet customer requirements.

Assemble electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems with the assistance of engineering instructions. (Schematics, drawings and verbal)

Inspect and test products to ensure quality and meets all the requirements and specifications.

Operate various fabrication equipment and tools including hand, pneumatic driven and power tools, and basic mill and lathe work as required to perform product assembly.

Communicate with group manager before making any procedure changes to insure conformance to ISO standards.

Maintain daily paper/computer work accurately, such as timecards, check lists and material transactions necessary to maintain inventory accuracy.

Apply TQM techniques and procedures to improve processes and assure defect‑free products to customers.

Perform work in other job classifications and departments as required.

Assist in installations and service issues at customer facilities. (Travel required).

Qualifications

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE SPECIFICATIONS
:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in metalworking, electrical wiring or machine assembly in lieu of post High School education. Experience in assembly a plus.

DESIRABLE

SKILLS:

Good communication skills including the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Work with minimal supervision.

Ability to travel on short notice. Having a Passport is a plus.

Experience or education with high voltage, specifically to three phase current.

Knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics.

Ability to operate forklifts.

Basic machine shop skills: sawcut, mill, lathe, parts to print.
