ASSISTANT TEAM LEADER - pOpshelf in SAINT CHARLES, IL S30470

pOpshelf seeks to provide Fun Finds for Less with a range of items priced under $5 and seasonal items. Stores offer a rotating selection of merchandise in categories such as home decor, health and beauty, snacks, toys, and more.

• Provide superior customer service to exceed expectations; operate cash register and assist customers.
• Assist the Store Team Leader in creating a customer-first store culture and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized store.
• Support merchandising efforts, rotate and display products to drive sales, and ensure displays align with guidelines.
• Assist with training and scheduling of store staff, conduct safety meetings, and ensure policy compliance.
• Manage stock processes including receiving, stocking, markdowns, scanning, inventory control, and loss prevention.
• Support plan-o-zones and ensure merchandise presentation follows established practices.
• Maintain cashier accountability, cash handling procedures, and deposits; assist customers at self-checkout terminals as needed.
• Assist in-store operations in the Store Team Leader’s absence.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience in a specialty retail environment preferred.
• Six months of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, perform basic math, and handle cash procedures.
• Strong product knowledge, merchandising, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds (occasional lifting up to 55 pounds).
• Exposure to various scents, noise levels, and seasonal weather conditions; exposure to cleaning solutions may occur.
• Fast-paced environment with regular interaction with customers and team members.

New Hire Starting Pay Range: 16.10 - 16.60 per hour.
