Tax Accountant

PEG Staffing & Recruiting is seeking a Tax Accountant on behalf of our prestigious client located in St. Charles County, MO. What You’ll Do

You’ll play an important role in managing the company's sales/use and property tax activities, working closely with internal teams, customers, and taxing authorities. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities while ensuring accurate and timely filings.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and file sales/use tax and personal property tax returns.
• Review assessed property values and tax bills, and prepare customer reimbursement invoices.
• Prepare annual business license applications.
• Respond to customer inquiries and requests from taxing authorities.
• Reconcile sales tax accounts and research discrepancies.
• Assist with special projects and other tax-related activities.

What You’ll Bring

A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.

• 2+ years of experience in property tax, sales/use tax, or corporate accounting.
• Must have strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels, customers, and taxing authorities.
• Experience with property tax and sales tax software preferred (PTMS and Vertex).
