. This position focuses on business development and new business capture within the Weapons portfolio, engaging customers across the Department of War (DoW) such as the U.S. Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps.
Reporting directly to the Manager of the Weapons Business Development team, the selected candidate will lead the capture of new business for Direct Attack Weapons, position Boeing for emerging requirements, and support the expansion of existing portfolio products, programs, and services.
Position Responsibilities- Lead the approval process by advocating customer requirements and selling the business case to management to ensure a quality deal.
- Leverage detailed understanding of both customer and Boeing needs to find alignment and integration opportunities.
- Drive sales and campaign activities to successful completion by integrating multiple aspects of the customers' needs.
- Craft campaign-specific strategies, procure resources and secure management commitment to ensure execution.
- Use company resources to support customer commitments, gain a competitive advantage, and foster growth with a comprehensive understanding of Boeing products, services, processes, and operations.
- Integrate knowledge into business strategies and solutions.
- Research, review, and analyze competitor information to develop a comprehensive understanding of competitor activities and their impact on Boeing’s strategy.
- Verify, evaluate and apply detailed customer knowledge to advance campaign activity, support the long‑range business plan and contribute to strategy development.
- Establish a broad network of contacts and knowledge to act as a broker of knowledge for multiple customer needs.
- Initiate and advance customer relationships, working to be accepted as a trusted partner.
- Maintain and expand the network to address customer needs and keep communication lines open.
- Develop customer solutions by coordinating internal and external processes, creating a competitive advantage, and fostering growth with acceptable margins.
- Lead the review process with management, balancing customer expectations and Boeing resources.
- Proactively address future customer needs and advance relationships.
- Identify future business opportunities and promote the value of Boeing’s portfolio and partnerships.
- Provide networking capabilities to meet needs beyond Boeing’s resources and offerings.
- Challenge proposed scope and cost to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
- Develop strategies and tactics using in‑depth knowledge of customer needs, Boeing products, services, and the competitive environment.
- Ensure strategic alignment with customers, the Long‑Range Business Plan, and regional and country objectives.
This position is 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required) is required. A clearance active within the past 24 months is considered active.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)- 5+ years of experience leading cross‑functional teams.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
- Experience preparing and presenting executive‑level briefings.
- Agile, fast‑paced work style, balancing multiple tasks with close attention to detail.
- 5+ years of experience in the air‑to‑ground weapon customer community.
- 5+ years of experience developing and managing strong relationships with partners (internal and external), government, and community customers.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Aircrew background in fighter/bomber platforms.
- Experience developing and executing new business capture strategies.
