Lindenwood University invites nominations, applications, and expressions of interest for the position of Vice President of Student Affairs (VPSA).

Reporting

Structure

The VPSA reports to the provost and is a member of the university cabinet, underscoring a partnership between academic affairs and student affairs to enhance student success.

Responsibilities

The VPSA will provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction for the following:

  • Operating budget of $9.2 million and overall budget of $12.7 million
  • Portfolio of 27 staff and 102 student employees spanning:
    • Residence life and housing operations
    • Student activities and campus programming
    • Student conduct and community standards
    • Career services and experiential learning
    • Student health and counseling services
    • Campus recreation and wellness
    • Student leadership development
    • New student orientation and transition programs
    • Commuter student services

Key focus areas include fostering engagement, belonging, personal growth, and supporting retention and persistence goals. The VPSA will also enhance the residential program as a cornerstone of institutional stability.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a master’s degree
  • Have at least 15 years of progressive leadership experience in student affairs
  • Demonstrate success in retention strategies, crisis management, and residential operations
  • Show a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, along with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Have broad knowledge of current student affairs issues and national best practices
