- Assist students with disabilities by administering and proctoring exams and assessments, ensuring test security, filing incoming tests, scheduling student tests in person, over the phone or via e‑mail, and rescheduling tests as necessary. Directly work with examinees as needed.
- Transcribe assessment tests and provide the test to the Adaptive Technology Specialist for alternate text conversion.
- Assist with the operation of adaptive equipment.
- Arrange note takers for students who have been identified by the DSS Manager as needing this service and prepare the list of note takers to be awarded the service scholarship at the end of each semester.
- Send out test request forms to instructors via e‑mail, scan completed exams and forward them back to instructors, and send completed exams through interoffice mail.
- Answer general student and faculty questions, make referrals to the DSS Manager as needed, explain and enforce DSS policies and procedures to students, and refer students to appropriate services.
- Maintain records of each DSS student’s schedule, enter daily documentation and history for each student contact.
- Communicate directly with departmental assistants and faculty.
- Collaborate with the assessment center for special accommodations for the Academic Skills Assessment testing as approved.
- Monitor forms utilized in Disability Support Services and order replacements when needed.
- Schedule exams and utilize the college student information system.
- Promote the college and its programs to the community.
- Track data and prepare reports to support strategic planning and participate in strategic planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including general office duties.

Education and/or
Experience:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. An associate’s degree in human services or a related field is preferred. Ability to learn customized computer programs quickly, excellent reading, writing, and oral communication abilities. Preference for experience working with people with disabilities.
