Job Summary:

Join our compassionate, collaborative Recovery Services team as a Teacher/Group Facilitator with the REAL (Recovery Enhanced Alternative to Learning) Academy. In this alternative school setting, you will work directly with students in grades 7–12 who benefit from additional academic and treatment support, helping them engage in online, blended, and traditional instruction and make meaningful progress toward their educational goals. You will also serve as an important connection among students, school personnel, treatment teams, and program staff to support enrollment, coordinate services, and create a positive learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Guide, teach, and encourage students as they complete online courses, blended instruction, traditional lessons, classroom activities, and other assigned academic work Support students’ academic engagement and success by providing individualized classroom assistance and monitoring their educational progress

Advocate for students and collaborate with treatment teams to coordinate educational and treatment services

Partner with school district personnel, REAL Academy team members, program supervisors, and other stakeholders to support student enrollment, communication, and continuity of services

Collect, maintain, and report required information, including attendance, grades, assessments, transcripts, demographic information, treatment schedules, outcomes, and invoicing

Contribute to the daily operation and continued development of REAL Academy educational services

Work independently, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and communicate concerns or student needs promptly

Represent the organization professionally and support its short-term and long-term goals

Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor, Program Director, Vice President, or Executive Team Education, Experience, and/or Credential

Qualifications:

Current Missouri teaching certification or active progress toward a teaching certificate with a current Missouri substitute teaching certification; orA four-year combination of higher education and qualifying experience; orFour (4) years of qualifying experience

Additional Qualifications:

Demonstrate knowledge of case management and rehabilitation methods, principles, and techniques related to mental health and substance use disorders

Understand the challenges experienced by individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders and how to access appropriate community resources

Demonstrate knowledge of treatment methods, service modalities, legal requirements, and court procedures related to mental health and substance use disorder services

Apply knowledge of supervisory and training techniques used in behavioral health settings

Evaluate services within the assigned program and provide constructive input
