Lead Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer

Responsibilities- Develop and document standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity; lead development of test procedures.
- Apply lessons learned to improve test procedures.
- Design calibration systems and test fixtures.
- Develop data‑processing tools and algorithms.
- Generate calibration procedures and software.
- Guide others in designing test hardware, software, and systems to achieve test requirements.
- Oversee debriefing of the test team.
- Lead analysis, processing, and formatting of data to customer requirements.
- Approve test data prior to delivery to customer.
- Formulate expectations for test data based on historical data.
- Perform functions as required to ensure calibration system readiness and data validity.
- Train others.
- Work under minimal direction.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non‑US equivalent directly related to the work.
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering role.
- Ability to accurately differentiate between Red/Orange/Yellow/Green/Blue safety display colors for real‑time flight test missions.
- 2+ years of experience with Flight Termination Systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 1+ year experience designing special test equipment for flight programs and supporting proposals.
- 1+ year experience with precision test and measurement devices.
- 3+ years of experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar.
- 5+ years of experience with flight test, flight operations, or system test.
- 5+ years of experience in lab test, flight test, or a similar test environment.

Summary Pay Range (Level
4): $126,650 – $171,350
