The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Engineer – Simulation (Associate, Mid Level or Senior) to join the Phantom Works Weapons Software team located in Saint Charles, Missouri
. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.
Join a mission-driven team designing and developing high-fidelity simulation models, visualizations, and virtual environments that accelerate testing, improve safety, and validate durability across the full product lifecycle. You’ll partner with stakeholders to capture simulation requirements, perform modeling, simulation, and analysis, and integrate simulation software with hardware systems to ensure realistic, repeatable test conditions. Your work will include data collection and processing, validating and refining models and code against real-world test data and benchmarks, and documenting test results to drive confident engineering decisions.
This role thrives on technical leadership and hands‑on delivery: implement modern tools and frameworks, migrate and modernize legacy simulation software, and build automated test procedures and execution environments that meet real‑time constraints. You’ll collaborate across cross‑functional engineering teams, support project management for simulation efforts, and apply expertise in real‑time architectures, APIs, and integration to produce demonstrable, production‑ready simulations that enable safer, more capable systems.
PositionResponsibilities
- Design and develop simulation models, simulation visualizations, virtual environments/platforms, and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware systems throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Partner with stakeholders to review and identify simulation requirements and dynamics of the systems being simulated.
- Perform design, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities.
- Perform data collection and processing for use in simulations.
- Validate, verify, and refine simulation software code, models, simulations, test procedures and test environments, execute test procedures and document test results and models against real-world data, test data, benchmarks, or other similar models.
- Document and maintain technical code, algorithms, specifications and descriptions of simulation models.
- Partner with cross‑functional engineering teams to enable integration of simulation software with hardware devices and systems.
- Implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and methods in the software engineering simulation environment.
- Modernize, migrate, sustain, and update simulation software to adapt legacy systems to new operating systems.
- Perform simulation software project management functions.
- 2 years of experience in C/C++ Development.
- 2 years of experience in Real-time software development.
- 2 years of experience in Simulation and test Frameworks.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 2 years of experience in CI/CD and automation in a Dev Sec Ops environment.
- Level 2: 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Level 3: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
