Patient Service Representative

St. Charles, MO (100% on-site)

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) will perform a variety of front office functions within a healthcare setting, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, insurance verification, and administrative tasks. The role requires a positive, professional demeanor to ensure a welcoming environment for patients and coworkers. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care operations on a temporary basis with the potential for permanent placement after three months.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of medical terminology and health insurance plans (HMO, PPO, etc.)
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills, both in person and over the phone
• Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems

• Answering telephones and managing inquiries efficiently
• Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
• Checking patients in and out, collecting co-payments
• Verifying insurance information and processing referrals or prior authorizations
• Maintaining accurate patient records through data entry and scanning
• Performing general administrative tasks, including faxing and scanning
• Providing excellent patient service with a positive attitude in all interactions
