The Safety Coordinator will perform a variety of routine practical and technical work in implementing various components of the health and safety programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for risk management activities necessary to ensure the company maintains a safe work environment for employees
- Develop and present training programs for management and staff regarding applicable health and safety rules and regulations
- Perform inspections and incident investigations, conduct routine safety compliance audits, and prepare reports; present information to management
- Responsible for developing and improving programs for: lock out tag out, hazardous communication, machine guarding and Slip, Trip and Fall
- Maintain OSHA 300 & 300A log
- Create and lead training including new employee orientation and annual refresher training
- Lead monthly safety committee meetings
- Coordinate Job Safety Analysis
- Follow good safety work practices and maintaining a safe and clean work environment
· Assist supervisors/managers in emergency preparedness

Qualifications and requirements· Associate’s degree related to the EHS field or equivalent experience
· Strong communication and writing skills
· Knowledge of federal and state environmental, safety and health regulations.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and work well independently or on a team.
· Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes.
· Ability to be flexible, work with interruptions and shift priorities as required
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Experience· 2+ years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment setting
Physical Requirements· Must have the ability to sit at a desk using a computer for extended periods of time, stand, walk, kneel, and bend as required throughout the day.
· Will be involved in identifying and implementing the safety requirements in a manufacturing environment, which could vary in temperature levels, noise and dust exposure, along with exposure to the outdoor elements regarding external building safety.
