PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER II – QUAIL RIDGE PARK

• Perform general maintenance of buildings and grounds of parks and inspect grounds to maintain safety.
• Perform safety inspections of grounds.
• Maintain a supply inventory of items needed for grounds repair, upkeep and improvements; place purchase orders for low inventory items.
• Perform annual landscaping requirements such as pruning of trees, annual planting and replanting of trees, flowers, and shrubs; apply appropriate fertilizer and seed to common grounds areas.
• Suggest capital projects for grounds enhancements as necessary and required and related to county grounds and supporting systems.
• Complete work orders documenting supplies used, time spent on projects, and job completion status.
• Act as lead focus person for call-up of snow removal personnel; keep an accurate inventory of materials needed for snow removal and place purchase orders to fulfill needs.
• Perform turf maintenance tasks including fertilizing, seeding, watering, mowing and trimming; rake and prune trees and shrubs; remove trees and shrubs.
• Sweep curbs and parking lots; remove snow and ice from walkways, parking lots and building entrances; spread salt.
• Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs; monitor equipment operation and recommend repairs or replacement; maintain underground sprinkler system.
• Assist with plumbing, carpentry, construction/fabrication projects and electrical, light building maintenance.
• Order supplies for ground maintenance such as fertilizer, mulch, pesticides and insecticides.
• Serve as a horticulture technician; maintain knowledge of parks.
• Move equipment in buildings; transport supplies, parts and equipment; escort repair service personnel and contractors.
• Cleans shop and organize tools; fabricate parts.
• May be periodically required to assist in park programming and activities outside of normal job duties and hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
