• Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately at check lanes, understanding the Point of Sale system and handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Rotate all merchandise according to code dating policies and check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
• Promote trust and respect among team members.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products sold.
• Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries, making suggestions when appropriate.
• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Order, label, stock, and inventory merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering, shipping, and pricing to management.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages/overages and work to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks).
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Comply with food safety regulations, maintain proper temperatures, and keep logs.
• Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
• Report accidents involving customers or employees.
• Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
• Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling, bending, and other physical activities.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, manage conflicts, act with honesty and integrity, follow directions, and assist diverse populations.

• Basic math knowledge
• Complete cashier training
• Memorize produce and sale items
• Effective communication and reading skills
• Must be 18 years or older

• Customer service experience
• Retail experience
