The Pre-owned Car Sales Consultant is a full-time, on-site position based at Roy O'Brien Ford in St. Clair Shores, MI. This role is responsible for assisting customers with selecting and purchasing pre-owned vehicles, guiding them through the sales process from initial contact to final delivery. Daily activities include greeting customers, conducting needs assessments, presenting vehicle options, coordinating test drives, and explaining pricing, financing, and warranty options.
The consultant maintains accurate records, follows up with potential and existing customers, and works closely with the sales and service teams to ensure a seamless experience. This role focuses on building long-term relationships, achieving sales goals, and supporting the dealership’s commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Ability to demonstrate strong Customer Satisfaction and Customer Retention skills, with a focus on building trust and long-term relationships.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities, including active listening and clear, professional verbal and written communication.
- Experience or strong interest in Automotive Sales, including understanding vehicle features, benefits, and basic automotive terminology.
- Basic proficiency with dealership CRM systems and standard office software to manage customer information and sales documentation.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a customer-facing environment.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and a customer-first mindset.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Previous experience in automotive, retail, or other sales roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
