Lifeguard

Lifeguards ensure swimmer safety at the SCS Municipal Pool. In this role, lifeguards enforce safety rules, monitor the water for danger, and rescue swimmers. Lifeguards are also responsible for multiple aspects of facility cleanliness - including but not limited to organizing deck furniture and clearing the pool of any debris.

Lifeguards typically are scheduled for 32 or more hours per week.

Training will be provided to those that can pass the American Red Cross Lifeguard prerequisites, which include:

• Students must be at least 15 years old by the last day of class
• Complete a 300 yard swim using front crawl or breaststroke
• Complete a 2 minute tread using legs only
• Possess the ability to retrieve a 10 lb dive weight from 7 feet deep, surface and swim 20 yards with the weight, using legs only and exit the pool without using a ladder within 100 seconds

Salary: $16.00 - $16.00
