Saint Cloud, FL Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension) Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday | 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Wednesday Off)
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II – Float to join our team in Saint Cloud, FL. The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing high-quality specimen collection and processing. This role requires strong phlebotomy expertise, excellent customer service skills, and the flexibility to travel between multiple patient service locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture, capillary, and other approved collection techniques.
- Ensure specimens are accurately labeled and prepared for laboratory testing according to established procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-collection to confirm specimen labeling accuracy.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence and precision.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Create a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding patient information.
- Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards.
- Promote a positive company image through exceptional patient and client interactions.
- Perform daily duties accurately and within established timelines under the supervision of the Area Supervisor.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training preferred.
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required in certain states as applicable).
- 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including:
- Pediatric collections
- Geriatric collections
- Capillary collections
- Patient Service Center (PSC) experience preferred.
- Strong customer service experience in healthcare, retail, or service environments preferred.
- Keyboarding and data entry skills required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Must be willing and able to travel between multiple work sites as assigned.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
- Ability to report to different locations with minimal notice.
- Eligible for mileage reimbursement when traveling between assigned sites.
