Property Accountant

• Compensation: $30.00-$36.00 per hour

What you’ll do as the Property Accountant:

• Ensure all monthly rents are collected and deposited timely to tenant ledgers
• Conduct regular ledger reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of general ledger accounts
• Prepare day-to-day and month-end close entries
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing process for all properties in assigned portfolio
• Manage and review reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and various other general ledger accounts
• Prepare financial statements, monitor monthly analyzes for financial impact for forecasting
• Responsible for recommending and enforcing internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Review work, develop, and serve as mentor for internal accounting staff
• Summarize and report areas of opportunity and concern each month to the Accounting Manager

What you’ll bring to the Property Accountant role:

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Yardi, digital workload management, and comfortable learning new software programs
• Comfortable with balancing multiple projects at a time, and eager to learn new tasks and take on new projects
• Expertise in accounting principles, laws/regulations, and GAAP
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues
• Positive attitude and openness to feedback necessary for continued growth and development
• Analytical mindset, comfortable with numbers and problem-solving
• Self-starter, intellectually curious, and not afraid to seek out projects independently
• Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
