SCHEDULE:
3 hours/day (may vary based on program needs)
REPORTS TO:
Building Principals, immediate supervisor
SUPERVISION:
None
SALARY: $16.50/hr (starting salary for new hires)
Qualifications- High School Diploma or G.E.D. (Required)
- Basic First Aid training within 3 months of hire date (Preferred)
- Bilingual (Preferred)
The Student Support Para educator is responsible for maintaining an orderly and safe environment, ensuring students engage in appropriate activities and do not interfere with others or district employees.
Essential Duties- Maintain a structured environment.
- Observe student behavior in structured and/or unstructured areas, inside and/or outside of the building.
- Keep administration informed of problems/concerns within areas of responsibility.
- Follow all district and site procedures in regards to discipline.
- Reports/Records/Information:
Maintain assigned records, maintain confidentiality, follow-up actions, provide relevant information to staff. - Other duties as assigned.
Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods; may be exposed to adverse weather. Frequent walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, seeing. Light work: exert up to 40 pounds occasionally or 10 pounds frequently. Light duty: negligible weight constantly.
