This role successfully manages a single classroom with students across all proficiency levels (e.g., CASAS/NRS Levels 1-6). The instructor must be adept at differentiating instruction and fostering a collaborative learning environment; creating a safe and caring climate and culture to prepare, engage, educate, empower, and inspire all learners in partnership with their surrounding community to be successful in today's and tomorrow's society.
EssentialDuties
- Plan and deliver dynamic, multi-modal lessons that address listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills by providing tasks appropriate for various levels in the same class period.
- Effectively utilize a variety of teaching materials, technology, and learning stations (or small groups) to provide focused practice for different student levels simultaneously.
- Facilitate a classroom environment that encourages peer-to-peer learning, collaboration, and practical application of English for life, work, and community involvement.
- Conduct formal and informal assessments (including sending students to Quarry view for CASAS testing, as required) and maintain timely, accurate records of student attendance and progress toward their educational goals.
- Integrate life skills, civics, career readiness, and digital literacy into language instruction.
- Participate in required staff development, curriculum planning meetings, and maintain professional communication with program staff.
