Schedule & CompensationSchedule:
FTE hours may vary based on program needs (11/6/25‑12/23/25) –
Salary Range: $49,141 – $90,362 per year.
Reports To:
Special Education Supervisors/Director, Building Principals.
Supervision:
Works collaboratively with and oversees the work of special education paras.
- Demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy.
- Demonstrate knowledge of students.
- Select instructional goals.
- Demonstrate knowledge of resources.
- Design coherent instruction.
- Assess student learning.
- Create an environment of respect and rapport.
- Establish a culture for learning.
- Manage classroom procedures.
- Manage student behavior.
- Organize physical space.
- Communicate clearly and accurately.
- Use questioning and discussion techniques.
- Engage students in learning.
- Provide feedback to students.
- Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness.
- Reflect on teaching.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Communicate with families.
- Contribute to the school and district.
- Grow and develop professionally.
- Show professionalism.
- Required:
Current special education teaching license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). - Preferred:
Previous related experience and multi‑categorical licenses.
Frequent tasks include walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing.
