Role Summary

St. Cloud Area School District 742 — the largest school district in Central Minnesota — is seeking qualified teachers for our English Learner (EL) Program at the elementary level (Kindergarten to Grade
6). We seek qualified applicants to create a safe and caring climate and culture in which we prepare, engage, educate, empower, and inspire all learners in partnership with their surrounding community to be successful in today's and tomorrow's society. Qualified applicants will be part of a collaborative team, assisting with promoting and building the District's English Learner Program for elementary-level students from Kindergarten to Grade 6.

Essential

Duties
  • Instructional Planning and Preparation – Demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy; demonstrate knowledge of students; select instructional goals; demonstrate knowledge of resources; design coherent instruction; assess student learning; design coherent instruction.
  • Classroom Environment – Create an environment of respect and rapport; establish a culture for learning; manage classroom procedures; manage student behavior; organize physical space; provide a safe and caring climate and culture.
  • Instructional Interaction – Communicate clearly and accurately; use questioning and discussion techniques; engage students in learning; provide feedback to students; demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness.
  • Professional Responsibilities – Reflect on teaching; maintain accurate records; communicate with families; contribute to the school and district; grow and develop professionally; show professionalism; other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minnesota teaching license (English as Second Language K-12)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
