Stantec is seeking an Environmental Scientist / Project Manager to support our Great Lakes Regional environmental remediation team based in the Twin Cities, MN. This role combines project management, client engagement, technical reporting, and 20–30% fieldwork. You’ll manage projects across multiple industries, including groundwater, soil vapor, and soil remediation, while building strong client relationships and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Project Management:
Develop proposals, budgets, and schedules. - Manage safety planning and ensure compliance.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
- Client & Agency Interface:
Serve as primary client contact and foster relationships. - Communicate with State Agencies to meet regulatory requirements.
- Technical Leadership:
Lead and implement Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments for soil, soil vapor, and groundwater. - Lead and implement remediation projects.
- Prepare technical reports, work plans, cost estimates, and grant applications.
- Review and interpret data against state and federal standards.
- Field Work (20–30%):
Conduct site investigations, sampling, and inspections. - Oversee subcontractors and ensure health & safety compliance.
- Team Development & Growth:
Mentor junior staff and manage field teams. - Support business development and proposal efforts.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical reporting.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience; PE or PG license preferred.
- Current 40-Hr HAZWOPER training preferred.
This position will primarily work in an office setting but will require some field work and field site visits. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Extended hours and schedules may be necessary to fit project demands.
