This is the key finance leader for a company with approximately $50MM in revenue. This position reports directly to the President and manages 3-4 people. The role involves a blend of accounting and finance responsibilities. The company is planning to grow, and over time, this position will take on more strategic responsibilities. It is an exciting time for the company, with proprietary developments and potential future acquisitions.
Responsibilities- Ensure that the company's financial statements are maintained and compliant with US GAAP.
- Lead and execute month-end close activities, including revenue recognition, WIP analysis, intercompany accounting, reporting packs, P&L review, variance analysis, trend reporting, KPI tracking, and ad hoc reports.
- Perform monthly actual versus budget and prior year trend analyses for the company and departments.
- Challenge operational teams to improve costs through analysis of products, equipment, and personnel.
- Support forecasting and budgeting, including revenue, expenses, balance sheet, cash flow, and capital spending.
- Monitor and forecast cash needs continuously.
- Manage and review all monthly A/R, A/P, and general ledger activities for each division.
- Provide comprehensive reports to leadership on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Offer reporting and recommendations across departments.
- Determine breakeven points for each department.
- Continuously automate reports and processes to improve the accounting department.
- Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analytics.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least 7 years of experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of GAAP; CPA preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and collaboration skills.
