Job DescriptionMidwest Business Finance Corporation (MBFC) is seeking an experienced Commercial Credit Analyst to join our team. This is an immediate, full-time position based in our St. Cloud, Minnesota office.
Key Responsibilities:- Review loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness, eligibility, and creditworthiness.
- Analyze business and personal financial statements, tax returns, projections, repayment ability, collateral, guarantor strength, and other relevant credit information.
- Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda that clearly identify the proposed loan structure, repayment sources, financial trends, strengths, weaknesses, and credit risks.
- Review commercial real estate appraisals, environmental reports, and related third-party documentation.
- Communicate with business development officers, and internal loan staff to gather information and move loan requests through the underwriting process.
- Manage assigned underwriting files and priorities while meeting internal and SBA-related deadlines.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of MBFC lending policies, procedures, and credit standards.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of SBA 504 program requirements.
Starting salary range: $65,000 - $85,000+ annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, financial statements, cash-flow analysis, and credit risk.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related business software.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent commercial lending or credit experience will also be considered.
- Three or more years of commercial credit underwriting and financial analysis experience preferred.
- Commercial real estate, SBA lending, or SBA 504 experience is helpful but not required.
MBFC is a nonprofit Certified Development Company that originates and services SBA 504 fixed-asset commercial loans in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Since 1983, we have helped small businesses finance real estate, construction, and equipment projects throughout Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, and select counties in South Dakota and Iowa.
