About the RoleAddison Group is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and self-motivated Support Specialist to join our client’s residential care team. This role supports teens living in a structured residential home for mental and behavioral health needs. The ideal candidate is patient, observant, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, emotionally dynamic environment. You’ll play a critical role in supporting daily routines, promoting safety, and helping residents build life and coping skills.
Key Responsibilities- Support teens with daily activities, routines, and structured programming within the residential home
- Provide consistent supervision to ensure a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment
- Assist residents in developing coping strategies, emotional regulation, and appropriate social behaviors
- Observe, document, and report behaviors, incidents, and progress according to program guidelines
- De-escalate challenging situations using trauma-informed and behavioral support techniques
- Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and leadership to support individualized care plans
- Model appropriate behavior and maintain clear, professional boundaries with residents
- Participate in team meetings, training, and shift coverage as needed
- 1+ year of experience working with teens or young adults in a residential, behavioral health, foster care, or similar support setting preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health or behavioral challenges strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently while following established care plans and policies
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Coursework or degree in psychology, social work, human services, or a related field preferred
- Must have a driver's license
- Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in high-stress situations
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable following structured routines
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary care team
