We are hiring a Desktop Support Associate to join a dynamic IT team within a leading financial services organization. This role is ideal for a seasoned IT professional with strong experience in desktop support, workstation management, and end‑user troubleshooting in a Windows‑based enterprise environment. The position offers the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative setting supporting both technical and business users, including executive‑level personnel.

Job Description

As a Desktop Support Associate, you will be responsible for providing Level 2 technical support across multiple sites, managing workstation deployments, and supporting various enterprise technologies. You’ll handle escalated service desk tickets, assist with onboarding/offboarding, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues. The role also includes light audio/visual support for conference rooms and coordination with third‑party vendors for printer maintenance.

Key Responsibilities Workstation Management
  • Imaging, configuring, and deploying Windows 11 workstations using tools like SCCM, MDT, Autopilot, and Intune.
  • Application deployment and hardware asset tracking.
  • Support for security tools (malware removal, encryption, backups).
  • Research and implement OS upgrades, patches, and new applications.
Technical Support
  • Provide Level 2 support for desktops, mobile devices, applications, and network access.
  • Occasional Level 1 support during outages or high‑demand periods.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues for VIP users.
  • Basic network diagnostics and support.
  • Manage support tickets using systems like Service Now or Remedy.
Technical Administration
  • Manage user permissions and passwords (Active Directory, Exchange).
  • Document standards and best practices.
  • Handle site logistics (inventory, shipping/receiving).
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and work in seated or standing positions for extended periods.
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with IT and business teams to resolve incidents.
  • Mentor helpdesk staff and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Windows-based workstations in a corporate setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office Suite, and enterprise applications.
  • Experience with workstation management tools (SCCM, MDT, Autopilot, Intune).
  • Familiarity with wired/wireless networks, VPNs, and collaboration tools.
  • Experience supporting A/V equipment and conference room technologies.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting internet-based applications and browsers.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with Service Now or similar ticketing systems.
  • Microsoft Active Directory administration experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree in Information Services or related field.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, MCSA, MCITP.
  • Experience with macOS and virtual desktop environments (VMware).
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, subnets, file sharing).
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and managing SLAs.
