Role
Patent Administrator supporting global patent record management and prosecution efforts within 3M’s intellectual property team.
Responsibilities- oversee and maintain a large, cross-geography patent docket with the Global Legal Service Center
- coordinate patent filing and prosecution instructions with external counsel
- analyze patent communications
- compile detailed correspondence
- and support global patent activities through data gathering, report preparation, and process documentation
- high school diploma/GED
- at least 5 years of IP administrative experience in private, public, government, or military sectors
- familiarity with US and international patent laws
- strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- experience with IP management systems (preferably Anaqua)
- ability to handle confidential information and collaborate across teams
- certifications in IP
- experience in multinational corporations or IP firms
- knowledge of patent laws across different jurisdictions
role involves managing patent records and prosecution in a multinational, cross-functional environment; on-site in Maplewood, MN; no travel required.
