Active Central Minnesota is seeking a mission‑driven, operationally skilled Race Director to lead the design, planning, and execution of our region’s premier community wellness events—including the Centra Care Earth Day Run, the Buffalo Granite man Triathlon, and the Big Lake Granite man Triathlon, all held in Central Minnesota.

$40,000.00/yr – $60,000.00/yr

The Race Director will lead the full lifecycle of our flagship event portfolio:

• Centra Care Earth Day Run, April 17‑18 – St. Cloud, MN
• Big Lake Granite man Triathlon, June 7 – Big Lake, MN
• Buffalo Granite man Triathlon, August 1 – Buffalo, MN

• Race management
• Guiding a Race Announcer
• Guiding a Race Timing Company
• Guiding a Course Manager
• Guiding a Volunteer Coordinator
• Guiding a Registration Coordinator
• Guiding a core volunteer team
• Expense management and budget reporting

This role requires a blend of project manager, operations leader, race‑day general, community ambassador, and ecosystem orchestrator.

The Earth Day Run Series requires 600 to 800 hours per year, with 400 to 600 hours concentrated from January 1 through April 30. The two triathlons require 300 to 350 hours each, concentrated in the three to four months before each event.

• 3+ years in race management, event production, public events, or related fields
• Demonstrated track record leading complex, multi‑stakeholder projects
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Ability to lead with calmness, clarity, and confidence in high‑pressure moments
• Effective communicator, capable of building trust across diverse groups
• Comfortable working outdoors and solving problems in real time
• Proficiency with registration software, planning tools, and digital communication platforms

• Availability for early mornings, evenings, and weekends surrounding event operations
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Preference for a single Race Director for all three events, or alternatively two directors (one for Earth Day Run Series, one for the two triathlons). Compensation ranges from approximately $40,000 for the Earth Day Run event up to $15,000 for the two triathlons, adjusted to match professional experience. This position does not provide employee benefits.
