Metric Bio is partnering with a business establishing a new pharmaceutical manufacturing operation and seeking a hands‑on technical leader to help bring the facility online and establish its initial manufacturing capabilities.
This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in building an operation from the ground up, with direct involvement in equipment commissioning, manufacturing processes, troubleshooting and operational readiness.
The Role- Lead the initial set-up and start-up of a new manufacturing operation.
- Provide hands‑on technical expertise across sterile/aseptic manufacturing and lyophilisation processes.
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and operational readiness.
- Establish manufacturing SOPs, operating procedures and cleanroom standards.
- Provide technical input into equipment selection, machinery configuration and cleanroom layout.
- Support batch planning and resolve technical and operational challenges directly on the manufacturing floor.
- Build and develop the manufacturing team as the operation grows.
- Essential experience in lyophilisation / freeze‑drying within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in sterile/aseptic manufacturing and cleanroom operations.
- Practical understanding of manufacturing equipment, process troubleshooting and GMP requirements.
- Experience supporting facility start‑ups, commissioning, scale‑up or manufacturing build‑outs would be highly advantageous.
- A hands‑on leadership style, with the technical credibility to work directly on the floor and establish the operation from its early stages.
This is not a traditional, strategy‑led General Manager position
. The immediate priority is finding someone technically strong who can get involved in the detail, overcome challenges and help make the facility operational, with the longer‑term opportunity to build and lead the manufacturing function.
