Sales Associate

Plato’s Closet buys and sells gently used, current-style clothing, shoes, and accessories for teens and young adults. Customers bring in items to sell, and we pay cash on the spot for the items we accept.

About the role

The Sales Associate is responsible for helping customers, keeping the store clean and organized, and supporting daily store operations. This role includes customer service, merchandising, tagging, restocking, register functions, and completing assigned tasks efficiently and accurately. The Sales Associate is expected to represent the store in a positive way, follow store procedures, and contribute to a strong team environment.

Job Tasks

• Greet customers quickly and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Answer customer questions about products, pricing, promotions, and store processes.
• Help customers find items and create a positive shopping experience.
• Operate the register and complete sales, returns, and other transactions correctly.
• Tag, hang, size, and organize merchandise according to store standards.
• Restock the sales floor and keep racks, shelves, and displays neat and full.
• Maintain fitting rooms, go-backs, front counter, and other store areas.
• Follow merchandising, cleaning, and recovery expectations throughout each shift.
• Support loss prevention by staying alert and following store procedures.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
• Work respectfully and productively with team members and management.
• Follow all store rules, policies, dress code, and customer service expectations.

• Dependable, responsible, and on time for scheduled shifts
• Able to stay focused and productive in a fast-paced retail environment
• Good attention to detail and ability to stay organized
• Willingness to learn store systems, procedures, and expectations
• Retail experience is helpful, but not required
• Able to communicate clearly in English
• Ability to stand and walk the full shift
• Ability to lift 40+ pounds without assistance
