Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Unit Manager/ADON/DON, the RN:

  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of residents/patients during a shift of duty.
  • Provides nursing care through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
  • Adheres to standards of care, manages environment for safety, and supervises nursing assistant and helper activity.
  • Follows North Shore’s policies, procedures, State Nurse Practice Act, and applicable JCAHO standards.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with an active license and a heart for elder care.
  • Values teamwork, accountability, and pride in work.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Proficient with necessary supplies and equipment (feeding pumps, oxygen, treatment trays, medication cart, etc.).
  • Ability to calculate drug dosage.
  • Meets all health requirements imposed by law.
  • Positive and effective communication with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and staff.
  • Readable, writable, and spoken English proficiency.
  • Basic computer knowledge and willingness to learn company applications.
  • Skilled nursing experience preferred; passion and attitude also valued.
  • New graduates welcome with training and support.
