Engineer-In-Training - Roadway

Department: Transportation

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: St. George, UT

Reporting To: Trevor Youd

Compensation: $70,000 - $100,000 / year

What are the core responsibilities for the role?
  • Support Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects.
  • Perform civil engineering design and associated calculations and interpret plans from other engineering-related disciplines.
  • Apply technical expertise and be able to work with a project team on conventional and unconventional projects.
  • Perform independent research and delegate changing priorities.
  • Adhere to Horrocks safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment and deliver accurate work that is error-free.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity.
Qualifications, Skills, and

Competencies:
  • Have a strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
  • Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers.
  • Be able to develop designs and documentation using Micro Station ORD and other design software.
  • Manage project data files from various sources.
  • Be proactive and responsive in effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in-person and virtually/remotely.
  • Ability to travel and perform fieldwork on occasion.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering – EIT.
  • 0-4+ years of experience in civil design UDOT experience is preferred.
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
  • Must be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing priorities.
