The About The Role section illustrates the responsibilities and expectations for a full‑time Commercial Loan Officer II at our St George branch.
Position PurposeIn partnership with branch/department employees, the Relationship Manager II helps ensure the branch/department controls and the risks to the Bank are met. This includes meeting organizational, financial, operational, service, sales, and growth plans, following established Bank policies and procedures, managing a full range of services to internal and external customers, and overseeing loans to maintain asset quality and generate fee income.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Originate new loan commitments annually in accordance with the Bank’s incentive compensation plan.
- Generate and manage a loan portfolio of $15–20 million or higher, maintaining asset quality and generating fee income.
- Manage construction, CRE, SBA, consumer, and C&I loans, ensuring compliance with terms, collecting on past‑due loans, monitoring covenants, grading loans accurately, and completing other monitoring reports in a timely manner.
- Take loan applications and analyze the risk of credit decisions.
- Call on new and existing customers to expand relationships, attracting loans, deposits, and other Bank products.
- Work with a team to prepare and present loans for approval.
- Process loan renewals and extension requests.
- Review all loan documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance, and explain approved loan details to the customer.
- Produce increasing profitable loan volume, maintain low delinquency and charge‑off rates, and ensure operations align with Bank policies.
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
- Stay current on all bank policies, procedures, products, and services through learning activities.
- Respond promptly to internal audits and other management reporting requests.
- Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frames, seeking clarification if needed.

- Two to five years of similar or related experience.
- A college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience analyzing business financial statements and data for risk assessment.
- Understanding of business entity structures.
- Knowledge of bank products, lending law, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and computer applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong managerial skills.
- Calm, professional interaction with diverse individuals at all levels.
- Reliable and timely attendance.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities through time management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to handle limited standardization and interpret instructions.
- Basic mathematical skills: compute discount, interest, profit, loss, commission markup, selling price, ratios, proportions, and percentages, and perform simple algebra.
- Advanced language proficiency: reading complex texts, writing complex sentences, and using proper punctuation.
- Frequent local travel: 2–3 days a week.
- No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
- Sitting most of the time; occasional exertion up to 10 lb.
