This position is for the new Desert Color branch. The Universal Service Representative II employee acts as a Service Representative and cross-sells Credit Union services. The role establishes and builds member relationships by identifying needs and educating members about specific products and services. Responsibilities include opening new savings, share draft, and credit applications; interviewing, counseling, and advising members on all loan products, deposits, and other products;

presenting loan requests to underwriters for approval as per procedures.

Mon – Sat Flex

• Develop member relations through sales and service.
• Maintain relationships with branch members and onboard new members at 2 weeks and 2 months.
• Maximize credit union product penetration to meet or exceed sales goals. Use AFCU’s Preferred Way of Selling techniques.
• Handle member interactions via all channels using effective sales techniques, assess financial needs, and recommend loans, deposits, and services.
• Resolve member problems related to consumer loan products, services, and account issues.
• Process teller transactions and represent the Credit Union courteously.
• Verify, balance, and process the full range of teller functions including cash, checks, transfers, and electronic services.
• Actively cross-sell credit union services, including mechanical repair coverage, debt protection, and electronic services such as mobile banking, online banking, and bill pay.
• Interview, take applications, and process preliminary documentation on loan requests. Conduct interviews, discuss loan alternatives and criteria, and present loan requests to underwriters for approval.
• Maintain loan processing and servicing responsibilities, including refinances, payoff, and lien follow-up.
• Act as branch expert for electronic services and assist members with electronic service resolutions.
• Perform Notary Public duties if eligible, in accordance with state laws.

High school graduate or equivalent.

• Thorough knowledge of member services, accounts, loans, and products.
• Understanding of new account bookkeeping procedures.
• Experience with loan processing functions.
• Attendance of all Home Equity Line of Credit trainings.
• Ability to quote loan rates and terms and calculate equity in home values.
• Knowledge of Home Equity disclosures and timelines.
• Understanding of Home Equity disclosure requirements, procedures, and underwriting criteria.
• Some accounting familiarity.

• Two years of varied office experience.
• Perform Notary Services.

• Excellent communications and public relations skills.
• Strong typing abilities (60 wpm with acceptable accuracy & neatness).
• Solid math and bookkeeping skills.
• Able to operate calculator, word processor, and related computer applications.
• Well organized.
• Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
