General Manager
LocationSaint George, Utah
OverviewWe are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a vertically integrated construction materials business, including aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, and construction operations. The General Manager will oversee safety, operations, sales, budgeting, equipment, and overall business performance. This role is responsible for delivering strong operational results, driving growth strategies, and fostering a positive, safety-focused culture.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership- Lead day-to-day operations across aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, and construction services.
- Drive operational efficiency, cost management, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and P&L accountability.
- Develop and execute capital expenditure plans and long-term strategic initiatives.
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams across operations, sales, and support functions.
- Manage succession planning, performance management, training, and talent development.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to support company growth and market expansion.
- Provide leadership in sales strategy, customer relationships, and market positioning.
- Collaborate with regional and corporate teams on performance initiatives and operational alignment.
- Lead a Zero Harm safety culture with an uncompromising commitment to employee wellbeing.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including MSHA, OSHA, DOT, and environmental standards.
- Promote sustainable and responsible operating practices.
- Engage with customers, employees, shareholders, and the community to uphold strong relationships.
- Represent the company with professionalism and a commitment to operational excellence.
- Maintain a positive company presence within the local community.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent with 15+ years industry experience accepted.
- 10–20 years of progressive leadership experience in construction materials (aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix, paving, or related).
- Proven success leading large teams and multi-site operations.
- Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and financial performance management.
- Strong leadership presence and emotional intelligence.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operational details.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to present data to senior leadership.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Frequent travel to plants, quarries, material sites, and job locations as needed.
