Installation Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Introduction
As an Appliance Delivery Helper, you’ll assist with delivery, installation, repair and haul‑away of appliances and other equipment. In this role, known internally as a Delivery Experience Cadet, you’ll handle a variety of order‑fulfillment duties, including installing, integrating, networking and repairing consumer electronics.
What you’ll do- Attend to appointments individually or lead a two‑person crew up to 30% of the time, completing basic to complex installations and repairs of home‑theater equipment and appliances.
- Determine the best way to bring major appliances into homes and final locations, measuring and protecting areas in route, deciding whether doors or fixtures need to be detached or moved.
- Remove and re‑install doors and panels as necessary.
- Provide a seamless client experience by advising on product placement, services and other content.
- Manage inventory and vehicle maintenance in partnership with other team members.
- Process paperwork and payment, provide feedback to the store teams and complete in‑store repairs.
- Maintain a current, valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Best Buy’s safety standards.
- Lift up to 350 pounds individually or 700 pounds as a team with the use of support tools such as a harness, dolly, or lift, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Be at least 21 years old and acquire and maintain any required state or local licensing within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum 6 months of customer service, sales, installation or large‑product delivery experience.
- Current, valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Best Buy’s safety standards.
- Physical ability to lift 350 pounds individually or 700 pounds as a team.
- Ability to plan routes, measure, and determine when doors or fixtures need adjustment.
- Proficiency in processing paperwork, payment and in‑store repairs.
- Leadership, decision‑making, written and verbal communication, and client‑relations skills.
