Are you a fluent bilingual communicator with a knack for problem-solving and a passion for helping people? A leading North American financial institution is seeking a Bilingual Collections Agent III to join their dynamic team in Saint John.
In this role, you will act as a supportive financial partner to customers, handling both inbound and outbound inquiries. Your goal will be to deliver empathetic, professional service, guide customers through financial solutions, and build positive, lasting relationships—all within a highly collaborative and supportive team environment.
Location:
Saint John, New Brunswick (Hybrid – 4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
Pay Rate: $24.24/ hour
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Work Schedule:
Monday to Thursday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM AST (Onsite) Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM AST (Remote) Fridays & Sundays OFF

Responsibilities
Customer Support:
Handle inbound and outbound calls with a high level of empathy, courtesy, and professionalism to resolve outstanding accounts.
Financial Solutions:
Actively listen to customers to understand their unique financial situations, providing clear guidance on banking solutions and payment structures.
Accurate Documentation:
Update client files, record transaction details, and maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration:
Participate actively in team meetings, coaching sessions, and process improvement discussions (accounting for approximately 20% of your weekly routine).
Escalation Management:
Resolve customer issues efficiently on the first contact, routing complex or high-risk cases to internal partners when necessary.
Qualifications
Must-Have
Skills:
Bilingualism:
Absolute fluency in both French and English (verbal and written) is required.
Experience:
2–4 years of experience in collections, customer service, or a fast-paced call center environment.
Technical Savvy:
High proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn internal banking software quickly.
Communication & Negotiation:
Superior verbal communication, active listening, and negotiation skills to handle sensitive financial conversations.
Detail-Oriented:
Exceptional organizational skills and a sharp eye for detail when documenting file notes.
Nice-to-Have
Skills:
Previous experience in the banking or financial services industry.
A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field.
