    How You Will Make an Impact

    As part of our growing engineering team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical design engineering tasks both in the traditional nuclear market and in new initiatives to develop nuclear technology and future nuclear-powered systems. The successful candidate will be working within a multi-discipline engineering team mainly supporting the Engineering design team located at Kinectrics East office in Saint John, New Brunswick.

    To deliver electrical engineering expertise to power generation utilities and other customers. The specific accountabilities of the position are as follows:

  • Provide electrical power distribution engineering analysis for new and existing nuclear power plants and designs including advanced reactors.
  • Perform conceptual and/or detailed design of instrumentation and control systems, including definition of system functional and performance requirements, definition of control logic and wiring arrangements, control parameters, setpoints, instrument ranges and environmental qualification and seismic qualification.
  • Perform specification, sizing, and selection for various types of I&C components, and produce component related documentation including assessment documents, setpoint calculations, error analyses, technical specifications, etc.
  • Perform condition assessments of electrical equipment such as transformers, breakers, switch gears, electric motors, motor control centers, generators and other power plant equipment
  • Develop life cycle plans, including inspection and test programs
  • Perform engineering design and analysis following established Engineering design and change control procedures
  • Perform electrical analysis, equipment protection, cable and electrical equipment selection
