We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer in our Energy and Resources team.
Your role will involve delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for substation and renewable energy projects across Canada.
Responsibilities Act as the main technical lead and client-facing representative, quarterbacking project delivery and facilitating key internal and external stakeholder discussions.
Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams for full substation project delivery, including civil, structural, protection & control, SCADA, and telecommunications.
Proven ability to mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture.
Design electrical systems and create technical specifications for substation and balance of plant equipment.
Prepare detailed plans and specifications for HV/MV substation projects.
Provide engineering expertise for electrical installations in Utility substations, as well as wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects.
Write and review technical reports, engineering assessments, and design documentation.
Ensure design compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver optimized and high-quality engineering solutions.
Occasionally travel to project sites for inspections, assessments, and client interactions.
Qualifications Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on substation and renewable energy systems.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing. United States Professional Engineering designation would be considered an asset.
Proven experience in collector network and substation design.
Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards.
Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
Demonstrated ability to write well-structured, clear, and concise technical reports.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving, process improvement, and client satisfaction.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
