Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the 2nd Class Marine Engineer will focus on operating and maintaining critical vessel systems. The role requires a proactive attitude toward safety culture and strict adherence to Transport Canada regulations and ISM Code requirements. Successful candidates will grow their skills in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support vessel operations through machinery maintenance
• Perform routine engineering watches as required
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical system issues
• Execute preventative maintenance tasks systematically
• Maintain comprehensive engineering logs and records
Requirements:
• Hold a Transport Canada Second Class Motor Certificate
• Have a valid Marine Emergency Duties certificate
• Possess PSM certification or ability to acquire
• Valid WHMIS certification is needed
• Must be eligible for all required training
