Our Finance Department is seeking an Accounting Clerk in Saint John, New Brunswick! At Bicom Systems, you'll join a collaborative and growing tech company where respect and teamwork are truly valued. In this role, you'll work alongside talented colleagues from around the globe while supporting the Finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, payroll preparation, month-end tasks, and general administrative duties.
What your day will look like:
- Perform general ledger reconciliations, including bank accounts and credit cards
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payment follow-ups, and bill processing
- Payroll administration and reconciliation (twice a month)
- Track fixed assets and prepare depreciation schedules
- Prepare and remit HST and corporate tax
- Coordinate with and assist external accountants
- Post journal entries, perform month-end closing
- Year-end preparation
- Prepare reports for management
- Admin and supportive duties, as required
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in a Finance, Accounting or a related role preferred
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software (e.g. Xero, Quick Books Online)
- Strong MS Office skills
- A good understanding of financial regulations and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Excellent organizational skills, with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting or a related field preferred
