Summary
The Project Cost Controller responsibilities focus on the budgetary control system for a Joint Venture Project through the preparation of cost reports, monitoring, analyzing, and demonstrating commitment to budget and forecast. The Project Cost Controller works with the Joint Venture Project team members to maintain accurate, updated information throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
As our Project Cost Controller you:
Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring accurate financial forecasting and reporting.Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain deviations from budgeted amounts, recommending corrective actions as needed.Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and compliance standards throughout the project lifecycle.Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project progress and success including Labor PerformancePrepare detailed status reports and executive summaries for JV PartnersFacilitate regular project review meetings, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-makingIdentify potential project risks and issues, developing strategies for mitigation and contingency planningCollaborate with the JV Partners to implement risk management practices, ensuring proactive responses to challengesServe as a primary point of contact for project-related financial inquiries and reportingCommunicate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and transparency regarding project status and financial healthAnalyze project management and financial processes to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gainsImplement best practices for project control and reporting, fostering a culture of continuous improvementEnsure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and readily accessible for audits and reviewsProgress Billing and Change Order ManagementProject Cost Controller will report to the Project ControllerQualifications
Over 3 years of financial/data analysis experience on Infrastructure / Energy Project controlling within multiple PartnersBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or an equivalent degree is required, and CPA, MBA, or public accounting experience preferredExperience working with Microsoft Dynamics (D) ERP will be a valuable assetStrong working knowledge of accounting including: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and taxAdvanced skills in Microsoft ExcelEffective communication (both oral and written), organization, and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to balance multiple tasks and responsibilitiesHigh level of professionalism and standardsMust be able to freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environmentsFinancial or accounting experience in construction or engineering industry preferredKnowledge of or familiarity with principal field business management systems: D , and ProcoreEnglish, and French (not a mandatory)Curious to find out whats it like to work at Plan Group?
